Born in Tokyo Japan and raised in Honolulu Hawaii, David is the creator and song writer for the yampapaya tribe orchestra. Having lived around the world in such places as Japan, Hawaii, Microneasea, China, Hongkong, Europe and the United States David espreses a multi ethnic style in his music. After taking a keen interest in music from Africa David has gone on to master African rythms such as soukous, mutwashi, makosa, afro-reggea and zouk and blending them with his native rythms of rock, funk and jazz giving Yampapaya its unique afro world music sound.
